A birthday to remember

17 Jul

He had a good birthday,  I think.

We went and got a cake early this morning. An Elmo cake. We got out the presents that had been arriving all week, lit the candle, and called each of the senders as he opened their gifts. It was a bit sad to hear the grandparents sing him “Happy birthday” over the phone. It didn’t quell his excitement though. He opened his presents with gusto and sang to himself.

After his nap he had dinner and the hubby had to go to work, so we had a lovely evening, reading books, listening to an audio book, playing trains, playing with the sheets off of the bed, splashing in the bath and watching Nemo.

We made an effort to make today special. Why don’t we do that everyday? It’s worth the effort.
